An annual showcase of Aotearoa's brightest stars and future icons, the official lineup has been revealed for the Going Global 2025 Festival, complementing and amplifying next month's Going Global Music Summit 2025 with a triple stage spectacular over two nights at Tāmaki Makaurau's Whammy! and Double Whammy! Hosting a diverse variety of local artists, each performing 20 minute sets back to back, the festival is accessible to the general public (not only Summit attendees) — a bargain-priced opportunity to see a whole bunch of acts you've never caught before and stumble upon new personal favourites.

The top of the class lineup for 2025 includes multiple award winners and current finalists for this year's Silver Scroll Award, sharing the sprawling bill with plucky newcomers. This event traditionally sells out so do not dilly dally, scope out the full lineup below, stay tuned for timetable info and secure your spot immediately for the Going Global 2025 Festival — brought to you by NZ Music Commission and Independent Music NZ...

"We are so proud to be presenting this amazing selection of Aotearoa’s artists to our International Delegates. As with previous years showcasing, so many international opportunities can arise from this." - Pippa Ryan-Kidd, IMNZ Chairperson

Press release:

Independent Music NZ is excited to present Going Global Festival, a vibrant two-night mini festival with 24 emerging artists from across Aotearoa’s musical landscape.

On Thursday 28 and Friday 29 August, Whammy! and Double Whammy! on Karangahape Road will host 24 artists performing concise, 20-minute sets — delivering the strongest songs from their repertoire. This format offers a focused, high-impact live experience that highlights the diversity and quality of Aotearoa’s emerging music scene.

The annual festival is a key part of Going Global™, a boutique summit where international booking agents, festival programmers, A&Rs, and sync reps connect directly with the next wave of New Zealand talent. But it's not just an industry affair – with doors open to the public, the festival offers a curated program of the artists shaping the future of Aotearoa's music. Tickets available now via Undertheradar.co.nz.

Covering everything from experimental electronica and punk to soulful pop and hip hop, this lineup represents the wide spectrum of Aotearoa’s contemporary music.
