Listen to Crystal Chen's New Single 'Stop.'
On the monster-stacked lineup for Going Global Festival 2025, rising star Crystal Chen has unfurled new single 'Stop.' in advance of the Chinese-New Zealand artist's debut album You can call me CC, which will be out in full on 5th September. Weaving together luxurious soul-jazz balladry and a shimmering touch of loungy exotica, the song's inspiration stems from Michel Gondry and Charlie Kaufman's 2004 film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, wholeheartedly embracing the memory of dashed romance despite the pain of doing so. Produced by noted Burt Bacharach enthusiast Joe Kaptein (also on keys duties plus more), open your ears to 'Stop.', preorder the vinyl LP edition of You can call me CC HERE, and catch Crystal Chen as part of the smokin' bill for night two of the Going Global Festival...
"Love to me feels like ‘The Queen of the Night’ flower. I adore and cherish its presence, yet I face the grief of its loss when I wake up the next day and the flower has wilted. I can find comfort that it may or may not bloom year after year, because everything is a cycle. Just like how when I first wrote this song I was heartbroken, but eventually found myself in a new relationship after the song was completed with the album."
