Today is a big day indeed for fans of Whakatāne's genre-melting legends Kora, who have unfurled their first studio album in thirteen years Fifth Season. Putting their own inimitable spin on funk, synth-boogie, soul, amp-frying heavy rock and sun-baked roots-reggae — sometimes all at the same time — Kora's long-awaited record doesn't at all sound like it's spent too much time in the cooker, instead feeling energising, playful and passionately alive across ten groove-powered tracks, clocking just under a very tidy thirty five minutes.

Fifth Season gathers together standout releases from the past few years 'Gone', 'Dancing In The Rain', 'Falling For You', 'Revolution' (featuring Kora co-founder and Black Comet tour mate Laughton Kora) and 'Easy Now (Final Season)' with a handful of future classics, including today's summery jangle-bop single 'U Wanna Give This Up'.
