Georgia Lines Shares 'The Guest House' EP + Video

Finalist for the 2025 Taite Music Prize and winner of the Tūī for Best Pop Artist at the 2024 Aotearoa Music Awards, Georgia Lines today puts the finishing touch on her new The Guest House EP. Also featuring earlier singles 'Wonderful Life', 'Julia' and 'Til The Music Stops', bittersweet new track 'Limincello' interweaves lush dream-pop sparkle and trip-hop percussion, while today's spotlighted title ballad elegantly ties the whole five song project together, out in tandem with the last in a series of bucolic clips directed by Mikee Carpinter, made with support from NZ On Air.

Filmed on Super 8 stock lending the visuals a timeless nostalgic tint, 'The Guest House' lifts the veil on Georgia Lines' week-long cottage visit in Manawatū — getting away from the urban grind, playing Scrabble, chopping firewood and feasting at the dining room table with her video making friends. Celebrating with headline events in her hometown of Tauranga and at Tāmaki Makaurau's opulent Hollywood Avondale this weekend, the artist revealed her new EP was sparked by a chat with Coldplay's superstar frontman Chris Martin...

"I had a conversation with Chris Martin at a Coldplay afterparty, when they were on tour in NZ. He shared his favourite poem with me, The Guest House by Rumi, and the words really resonated. Months later, on the tube in London after a day of recording, I realised the poem hadn’t just stayed in my mind, it had been quietly shaping the work itself. Its essence perfectly captured the songs we were creating: the sense of living in a space of transition, welcoming every visitor, every emotion, every experience, and allowing each to take its place. It felt inevitable that the EP would carry the poem’s name, because in many ways, the words gave the songs their home."
