Music First: Gilles Peterson (London) Auckland Show Announced
A towering figure in UK club culture, whose boundary-pushing influence has reverberated all across the planet for more than four decades, Gilles Peterson is teaming up with Aotearoa's own Music First for a very special spring event at Tāmaki Makaurau's Hollywood Avondale on 14th November. The London DJ, producer, broadcaster, festival curator and label operator co-founded the genre-defining Acid Jazz Records in 1987, moving on to found the iconic Talkin' Loud (who released Roni Size's Mercury Music Prize winning 1997 album New Forms), later co-founding Brownswood Recordings. Peterson has been a taste-making presence on BBC Radio's airwaves from 1998 onwards, currently hosting a weekly three hour show on Radio 6, reaching even wider audiences via his Worldwide FM station on Grand Theft Auto V.
