The Fadeaways (Tokyo) Hitting Aotearoa New Zealand in November
Heroically blasting amps and wrecking fretboards in their hometown of Tokyo from 2005 onwards, The Fadeaways are at the forefront of a 21st Century generation of Japanese garage-punk insanity. The trio of Toyozo, Assman and Ozzy are finally making their way to Aotearoa New Zealand for the first time ever, treating gig-goers in both the North and South Islands to headline events at Tāmaki Makaurau's Whammy Bar and Ōtautahi's Space Academy this November. With ten long players / tour LPS to their name so far, including 2016's Garage Punk Hitsville, if you (like us) are a lover of grunty riffs piled perilously high, white hot explosive licks and primal yowls, it'll soon be time to grab your dancing shoes and catch The Fadeaways in action — brought to you by Clean Dirt...

CLEAN DiRT & under the radar present from Tokyo Japan THE FADEAWAYS
Fuzzbusting 60s garage nuts trio from Japan to perform first NZ shows in November !
Tokyo's WILDEST garage punk trio head to Aotearoa for the first time in November !
On the back of Australian dates - The Fadeaways will play six shows over five days in two countries.See them before they self destruct !
Feverish fans of NZ 60s and 70s punk , their two NZ dates have been especially curated so they can visit the Stage Door in Christchurch , which 60 years ago was the spiritual home of the garden city's R&B monsters Chants R&B .... North Sydney siders C.O.F.F.I.N paid respects to the legendary earlier this year and CHants R&B flagbearer Pat Beers from the Schizophonics performed a song in the basement dwelling on his first visit to Christchurch in 2019. Jumping to Auckland on the Monday , the Fadeaways hope to visit downtown Durham Lane and ye olde Top 20 Club which hosted the infamous Pretty Things at the climax of their insane tour of NZ in 1965 , while 13 years later, the upstairs of that building became NZ punk rock central when it opened as Zwines.
Tee Fadeaways tell us ....Each show is an. adrenaline-fueled experience where bassist Toyozo often finds himself leaping onto the kick drum, belting out tunes while perched atop the heaving drum. Drummer Ozzy isn't one to stay behind, melding his drumming with astonishing handstands on his kit. And fuzz guitarist Assman? He embodies the spirit of Japanese rock, leaping through the air and, in one unforgettable moment, skulling a bottle of Asahi handed to him by an audience member—all without missing a beat on his guitar.
