Silk Cut 'Corridors Of Light' Album Release Show Announced

No those sharp gents in the red shirts / black ties aren't Kraftwerk, they're Aotearoa's own Silk Cut, who have just unfurled their third album of radiant power-pop Corridors Of Light. Co-songwriters Andrew Thorne (Thorn, Splitter, Calico Brothers) and Justin McLean (Bike) sound like they're having an ace time as they channel their expertise into a dozen energising and uplifting (literally on 'Friendly Skies') new tunes, laid down at at Chapel Studio in Puhoi with bandmates Jayden Lee and Aidan Phillips, and studio king Dave Rhodes on engineering / mixing / mastering duties.

Adeptly balancing dream-pop / shoegazey textures, yet unafraid to bring the amp-frying heavy rock grit when required — utilising a 1970’s Marshall Plexi guitar amp once owned by AC/DC's Malcolm Young — and even making angular new wave motions on 'Falling Through The Sky', Silk Cut will be toasting their new record with a launch event at Tāmaki Makaurau's Big Fan on 2nd November.
