Listen to Yurt Party's New Album '200'
Fiendishly anticipated by those many partygoers who've experienced their live sets firsthand, Yurt Party polished off their second album 200 at bassist / producer Josh Logan’s home studio in Ōhinehou Lyttelton. Putting a prismatic spin on the port town's globally famed love for folk musical sounds, 200 positively bristles with energy and all-instrumental prowess. The group's ever-roaming vision encompasses the ants-in-pants Baltic stomp of 'Pocket Weasel', the evocative Sérgio Mendes-like chants of 'Turbulence', afro-beat heater 'Fela', the ocean cruise exotica of 'No Numbers', the breezy summer-anticipating reggae of 'Uncle Bolland', and that's just scratching the surface.
Yurt Party are bringing the boogie nationwide, embarking on an Aotearoa launch tour from next Friday (Halloween night) onwards. Nab the vinyl edition of 200 while you can from good record stores / online HERE, and join the Ōtautahi Christchurch collective at the following dates...
