Satanic Surfers (SWE) Announce Debut New Zealand Show
Charging out of the Swedish township of Lund at the tail end of the eighties, Satanic Surfers are champions in the maximum energy, risk life-and-limb realm of skate punk. Putting their name on the map with 1993's five song statement of intent Skate to Hell via their homeland's Bad Taste Records — in fact named after Peter Jackson's gross-out classic — Satanic Surfers now have seven studio albums to their name, and notably contributed to the fifth instalment of Epitaph's era-defining Punk-O-Rama compilation series. On pause for a ten year span from 2007 onwards, Satanic Surfers reconvened for 2018's rapturously received long player Back From Hell.
Still helmed by co-founder Rodrigo Alfaro (drums and lead vocals for most of the group's career) with veteran guitarist Magnus Blixtberg and long-term members Andy Dahlström and Max Huddén, Satanic Surfers have announced their first ever Aotearoa New Zealand headline show at Tāmaki Makaurau's Whammy Bar on 23rd March — a can't miss occasion brought to you by Sticky Fingaz Tour Management...

Press release:
Get ready to cut loose! Swedish skate punk legends Satanic Surfers are coming to New Zealand for the first time ever, playing an exclusive show at Auckland’s Whammy Bar in March 2026.
Emerging from the same raw, snow-dusted punk underground that produced No Fun At All, Satanic Surfers defined Sweden’s 90s skate punk sound — a rush of tuneful aggression, melody, and conviction that carried from cracked asphalt and frozen suburbs straight into sweaty basements around the world. Their music is momentum made audible: fast, melodic guitars bouncing off concrete, restless energy pushing outward toward freedom.
Known for their high-octane live shows, the band injects equal parts adrenaline and heart into every set — the perfect soundtrack for skating, moshing, or shaking off life’s static.
Whammy’s intimate space will put fans shoulder-to-shoulder with one of punk’s most enduring forces — the kind of night where sweat hits the ceiling and every shout feels like liberation.
So ditch the grind, grab your mates, and tear it up with Satanic Surfers in March. This is your chance to be part of skate punk history — their first-ever New Zealand show. Show up — or hear about it later.
