Hawthorne Heights (USA) Returning to Aotearoa New Zealand

Chris Cudby / Tuesday 16th December, 2025 9:00AM

Ohio icons of post-hardcore / emo-punk, Hawthorne Heights are making their way back to Aotearoa New Zealand in April 2026, headlining Auckland's Double Whammy and Wellington's San Fran. They'll be here toasting the 2006 anniversary of their chart-busting 2006 album If Only You Were Lonely — the group's final record featuring rhythm guitarist Casey Calvert, who tragically passed in 2007 — which achieved number one on Billboard's Independent Albums chart and grazed the top of the Billboard 200 chart that same year.

Still an unstoppable force, Hawthorne Heights unleashed their brand new single 'Wreckage' just one month ago, accompanied by a fresh version of their 2012 anthem 'New Winter'. Attendees can look forward to If Only You Were Lonely performed in full as well as a selection of fan favourites from across Hawthorne Heights' expansive oeuvre so far, here are the details...

Press release:

Emo pioneers Hawthorne Heights are set to return to New Zealand in 2026 as part of their global Lonely World Tour, commemorating the 20th anniversary of their influential 2006 album If Only You Were Lonely. The band will perform the album in full, alongside a selection of fan favourites spanning their two-decade career.

Since its release, If Only You Were Lonely has become a defining record of the 2000s emo and post-hardcore movement, featuring anthems such as “Saying Sorry”, “Pens and Needles”, and “This Is Who We Are.” The anniversary tour offers fans the rare chance to experience the album live, in an intimate and high-energy setting.
