Vana Auckland Headline Show Announced w/ Haast Hunter

A fast rising star in the expanding realm of alt-metal, Vana is the sonically searing alter-ego of Aotearoa songwriter / multi-instrumental dynamo Yvonne Winckel. Smashing together industrial distorted beats, head-hammering riffs and sweet / screaming yowls, Vana has attracted a global fanbase with such in-the-red bangers as 'BEG!', 'Clandestine' and 'WORSHIP', her recent collaboration with Florida metalcore crew Magnolia Park.

Now signed with Nashville, Tennessee imprint Sumerian Records — home to such major international acts as Crosses, Poppy and I See Stars — Vana is embarking on a massive tour of North America starting in just over one month's time. Supporting none other than Linkin Park at Spark Arena this month, local fans will be stoked as hell Vana has squeezed in a headline gig at Double Whammy in Tāmaki Makaurau before she jets abroad, joined on 20th March by Kirikiriroa heavy-hitters Haast Hunter, plus a show in the capital at San Fran. A powerful new voice is rising in modern metal. Vana blends her Anaheim origins with her New Zealand upbringing to create a sound that refuses to sit inside genre lines. Fusing metal’s crushing intensity with electronic pop textures, she delivers a bold, boundary-pushing style all her own.

Pronounced VAH-NAH, Vana is a New Zealand–based artist crafting industrial alt-metal that collides savage riffs with haunting electro-pop melodies, trap-leaning production, and explosive breakdowns. Entirely self-taught, independently building both her sound and her following before signing with Sumerian Records in 2025.

A vocal advocate for inclusion, mental health awareness, and female empowerment within male-dominated scenes, Vana is committed to creating a safe, empowering space for women, LGBTQ+ communities, and anyone who has ever felt like an outsider. Her debut album—arriving in late 2026 via Sumerian Records—will unveil a dystopian fantasy universe steeped in dark femininity, villainy, and the misunderstood perspective.
