HEAVY CHEST and O & The Mo - This Week in Auckland & Raglan with Serebii
Quietly winning hearts on both sides of the Tasman (and beyond), the teaming up of HEAVY CHEST and O & The Mo is a happy occasion indeed for lovers of swoony tunes. Both acts are back in Aotearoa this week, playing an intimate double date event in the historic Auckland Unitarian Church on Thursday, then they'll head on down the highway this Friday to Raglan's The Yard Cafe & Venue, where they'll be joined by neo-soul / electronica maestro Serebii for banger all-star triple header show.
All three Aotearoa acts have been busy making waves. O & The Mo unveiled their new album Make Way For The Sun at the start of last year — about which we gushed: "an elegant marriage of sunbaked psych-folk / rock, balearic rhythms and a touch of Morricone-esque spaghetti western strut" — and recently wrapped up an Australian tour with Σtella. Always a local favourite, songwriter Andre Smith released HEAVY CHEST's new album Ascend (recorded in the French Alps during an artist residency) in November, and his recent touring adventures include shows in both hemispheres with fellow stars Mild Orange. Joining the gang for Friday's show, Serebii has been prepping listeners for the launch of his third album Nothing Grows Here with a commanding run of singles. Make a beeline to catch this mega-talented crew...
