Office Dog Unveil Single & Video 'Gold Things' + Announce New Album 'Prime Corner'
Starting with a crashing wallop of guitars and drums, 'Gold Things' is a triumphant new slab of post-punk / avant-rock from Office Dog, heralding the upcoming release of Kane Strang, Rassani Tolovaa and Mitchell Innes' second album Prime Corner. Largely written while Strang was house sitting for a month in West Auckland, then demoed by the trio "in a whirlwind 'Storage King' session", Prime Corner was polished off with trusty engineer / producer De Stevens late last year at Roundhead Studios.
Out physically and digitally on 19th June via Flying Nun Records, super city fans can get an advance peek at Office Dog's new record by cruising along to their fundraiser show at Whammy Bar on 2nd May aka NZ Music Month / Te Marama Puoro o Aotearoa — helping raise dosh towards a fast-encroaching tour of the UK and EU. Directed by Sophie Black and made with support from NZ On Air, the accompanying video for 'Gold Things' encapsulates the onstage power of Office Dog, filmed live at Whammy. Hit play and catch them while you can...
"This song is about getting what you’ve wanted, or reaching a place you’ve seen off in the distance for a long time.
Incredibly proud of this record. It took a lot but also feels like we’ve figured out what OD is now."
