Raumati Social Club NZ Music Month Mini-Series Announced ft. Nikita 雅涵 Tu-Bryant & KITA with Guests

Frontperson of Aotearoa electronica voyagers KITA and multidisciplinary force in her own right, Nikita 雅涵 Tu-Bryant hosts a three night residency at Kāpiti Coast community hub Raumati Social Club in late May, all in tune with NZ Music Month / Te Marama Puoro o Aotearoa.

Each evening will spotlight different sides to the Taiwan-born, Pōneke-based artist's musical life. The NZ Music Month Mini-Series commences with a KITA duo DJ set co-starring Ed Zuccollo (ZUKE) on the Friday, a full scale KITA headline event on the Saturday with special guest Tyson Smith, plus a free early Sunday evening wind-down Songs By Twilight show, featuring acoustic solo performances by Maxine Macaulay (Goodnight My Darling) and Nikita 雅涵 Tu-Bryant (sans live bands).

Friday 28th May - KITA (DJ set, 8:30pm)
Before KITA came to exist as the power trio they are known in Aotearoa, KITA existed as Ed Zuccollo (producer aka ZUKE) and Nikita 雅涵 Tu-Bryant, playing around making beats in Ed's Room in Newtown. Ed and Nikita used to play with alternating drummers until Rick Cranson became their full time drummer for the KITA trio we now know.
Friday night come experience the KITA DJ Set (no drums) where they share some songs written in this context that are now seen performed as the live band, as well as some other works in the mix that are not yet performed by KITA.

Saturday 29th May - KITA x Tyson Smith (8:30pm)
KITA played a sold out show at the RSC the last time they played Kāpiti, with rave reviews. Come see them share the stage with legendary guitarist Tyson Smith.
Tyson Smith Musician, songwriter, and DJ - Tyson has worked as a guitarist with acts ranging from the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra to vocalist Hollie Smith. Now pursuing his own original music, both solo and with collaborative projects including psych-world-surf band The Electrons. His original music combines elements of rock, blues, folk, electronic, world music and freeform improvisation.
In 2025 was the 10 year anniversary of Smith's album Hollow Tree, join them on Saturday to experience Tyson playing some of his album with power-trio KITA, as well as Tyson bringing his twang to the KITA set. An amalgamation of forces.

Sunday 30th May - Songs By Twilight: Goodnight My Darling x Nikita 雅涵 Tu-Bryant (4pm to 6pm, free)
Come decompress your weekend with Songs By Twilight, and experience Maxine Macaulay and Nikita 雅涵 Tu-Bryant in an acoustic setting, standalone without their live bands.
