Chris Cudby / Tuesday 19th May, 2026 3:22PM

Soon venturing all around Aotearoa New Zealand banging the drum (and more) about his soon-to-be-launched album Baby Heavyweight, Delaney Davidson's new ballad 'Everything Is Here' was written with fellow Canterbury icon and regular partner in crime Barry Saunders (The Warratahs). A gentle-strumming tune, tinted with autumnal melancholy and featuring vocals by Heather Webb, 'Everything Is Here' ponders the potentiality of finding enlightenment in one's own back yard. Co-directed by Davidson's own Rough Diamond Inc and Falling Films, and made with support from NZ On Air, the accompanying short film artfully balances clownish mirth with contemplative, southern gothic atmospheres.

Launching in full on 26th June (preorders available HERE), Davidson's imminent new record also sports co-writing credits by peers Marlon Williams, Kommi, Sean Wheeler, Tami Neilson, and Pierre Omer. A shadowy contrast to the mutant bop of his recently released title track, hit play on 'Everything Is Here' and go catch Davidson with band touring nationwide this winter...

"Everything Is Here was written after dreaming about another song I had co written with Barry Saunders, I showed it to him and he wasn’t very impressed so we ended up writing this one. The idea that you are looking for something that is all around you, the possibility for change and finding an oasis in everyday life through presence of mind were something we often feature in our songs, this one really focussed on that."
