CCTV Unveil Debut Album 'Empire'

CCTV Unveil Debut Album 'Empire'

Chris Cudby / Friday 3rd July, 2026 11:16AM

"You'll only know when it's happened when it's over." One of the most widely-loved groups to emerge from Tāmaki Makaurau's noisy underground this decade, CCTV's brand new debut album Empire is a parting gift for fans before their last ever show this Saturday. A primal, mosh-inducing force on stage, the six-piece post-punk collective document that energy for the ages with eight thrillingly rawkus, sometimes nerve-rackingly tense anthems which grab you by the throat — recorded by De Stevens and Tiare Kelly — closing with the tender 'You Will Find What You're Looking For'

With many members still firmly entrenched in our live music community, cherish Empire's release (out on Bandcamp later today), respect the disbanding group's wishes, and be stoked it even happened in the first place. Join CCTV one last time tomorrow at Big Fan, with special guests Community Treatment Order and Castlegarden...

"Empire, our debut and only album is out today.

Thank you to De Stevens and Tiare Kelly not only for your excellent recording but your keen insight and reassurance during the process of putting it together. Thank you to Sous Chef for mastering the record. And thank you to Sajan Rai for drawing the sick as fuck cover art.

We hope you all enjoy it."
