The Night Before (Great Sounds Great) - Newtown Multi-Venue Warmer Announced

The Night Before (Great Sounds Great) is the big party before the big party in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington this spring. Spilling outside the confines of Great Sounds Great's all-star central city maxi-festival, The Night Before is a sonically ambitious extravaganza in its own right, a Friday night mini-fest extending tendrils throughout Newtown gig hubs Moon, Office Bar and Newtown Community Centre on 4th September.

All brought to you by Eyegum Music Collective with support from Abandoned Brewery, RadioActive.FM, and Wellington City Council, the newly announced warm-up rager spotlights twelve Aotearoa acts including noise-rockers up from Ōtepoti Dale Kerrigan, all accessible with one handy wristband. Eyegum is excited to present for the first time, THE NIGHT BEFORE, a new addition to Great Sounds Great. This multi-venue mini-festival will be focused on Te Whanganui-a-Tara’s beloved Newtown village for one night to warm people up for the main event the next day. It will feature 12 incredible local artists performing across three neighbouring venues.

We are really stoked to be bringing the GSG party to and sharing the love with this special part of the city that has long been a home to our music and arts communities. With a programme curated to showcase the best up-and-coming artists that the capital (and Ōtepoti) has to offer.

Ticket holders will receive a wristband that will give them access to each of the participating venues throughout the event. Information on how to pick up wristbands will be provided to ticket holders closer to the time.
