Rowena Wise (AUS) Announces Debut New Zealand Solo Tour

Shortlisted for the 2024 Australian Music Prize for her coming of age debut album Senseless Acts of Beauty — hailed by Mixdown as "a rollercoaster of beautiful moments combined in one cohesive, flowing stream" — Australian songwriter Rowena Wise will perform in Aotearoa for the very first time this spring. Raised in Western Australia and now based in Naarm, the rising artist is touring her forthcoming second long player Bad Things Feel Good*, a ten song cycle reflecting upon "emotional fault lines of love, identity and mental health", on in full on 7th August.

Rowena Wise has lined up suitably intimate dates in Tāmaki Makaurau, Pōneke, Whāingaroa, Ōakura and Kerikeri for her first visit to our shores. This spring, Rowena Wise makes her long-awaited New Zealand debut, bringing an intimate solo show across the motu for the first time. With just voice and guitar, Rowena’s songs hit with a rare kind of clarity - tender, point-blank, and unafraid of the quietest truths.

From Melbourne to Auckland, Wellington to Oakura and beyond, the tour celebrates a body of work that holds space rather than demands attention, tracing heartbreak, estrangement, and the knottier growing pains of adulthood with candid poetic lyricism.

Since debuting in 2018, Rowena has amassed over 10 million streams, earned airplay across triple j, Double J and Unearthed, and toured extensively across Australia, the UK, Europe, the USA and Canada, supporting artists including Folk Bitch Trio, Holy Holy, Ball Park Music, Bernard Fanning and Paul Dempsey.
