Evie Bamford 'Now Rising, Now Falling' Debut EP Release Tour Announced

Achieving the lofty number one spot on the RadioScope Alternative Airplay Chart for two weeks running with her luminous latest single ‘Daily Bread’, it is nearly time for Aotearoa songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Evie Bamford to unveil her debut Now Rising, Now Falling EP. Crafted over a three year period and out on 1st September, Bamford with her live group — featuring Jeremy Richardson, Hugo Butler and Rory Johns — will play EP launch soirées in Tāmaki Makaurau, Whāingaroa, and an Eyegum Free Wednesdays show in the capital this spring. Recent special guest opener for Jazmine Mary, Bamford is also performing this evening at Whammy Bar in support of Ben Chavasse. Here are the details...

"I started writing these songs over three years ago, when I was jarringly and somewhat reluctantly entering my mid-20s, and it’s been really special to watch them evolve since I started this project. Over my core band of guitar, keys, bass and drums, there’s magical moments of clarinet, cello, trumpet and synths. It was really important to me to blend my background in jazz and classical music with the indie music I was writing, weaving in chamber influenced instrumentation and jazz harmony."

Following a breakthrough year, Auckland-based songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Evie Bamford releases her debut EP Now Rising, Now Falling on 1 September, and will be taking it on the road with her band to celebrate.

Across six tracks, the EP explores anxiety, self-worth, relationships and resilience, documenting a period of growing up through warm, intricately arranged indie rock.
