Midwave Breaks Announce Debut Album Release Tour

The Tauranga-based guitar-drums duo of Bruce Conlon and Paul Russell (Supergroove), Midwave Breaks have come a long way since getting the ball rolling early this decade. Finalists for Te Manu Taki Rakapioi o te Tau | Best Rock Artist at the 2024 Aotearoa Music Awards and staples of the Top 10 NZ Rock Airplay Chart, the amp-blasting pair's debut album Echo. Tide. Awake. is nearly finally here. Written, recorded and entirely self-produced by the band "in the spare room of a farmhouse, overlooking the Bay of Plenty coastline", Echo. Tide. Awake. sports thirteen new tracks and will be out 9th October on vinyl LP, compact disc, and digital streaming.

Equally at home on stage as in the studio, Midwave Breaks are rallying the troops for a four date debut album release tour, taking them to Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Tauranga, Tāmaki Makaurau and Ōtautahi from 6th November onwards. Midwave Breaks celebrate the release of their first full-length album, with four special shows across New Zealand.

Presented by The Rock, the Tauranga based Alt-Rock duo will be joined by a host of Special Guests across the tour, including: The Response, The Rainfall, Courtnay and The Unholy Reverie, NoPilot, Not Exact, and Van Brookes.

Since launching in 2021, Midwave Breaks have captivated fans, across airwaves and stages around the country, with 8 independent radio singles hitting the NZ Top 10 Rock Airplay Charts, a nod for Best Rock Act at the 2024 Aotearoa Music Awards, and highlight-reel live performances in support of Incubus, Live, and Devilskin.

Echo. Tide. Awake. features 13 new tracks for 2026 – all written, recorded, mixed, and mastered by the band themselves, in the spare room of a farmhouse, overlooking the Bay of Plenty coastline.
