Queens Of The Stone Age Unveil Single / Video 'Where The Goth Girls At?' From Upcoming Album 'Perfecth'

Standard bearers for rock music in the 21st century, with multiple Grammy awards under their studded belts thus far, the ninth studio album from Josh Homme's Queens of the Stone Age will be out in just one month's time. Heading to Aotearoa New Zealand this summer to headline Auckland's Spark Arena — supported by legends in their own right Primus and Tropical Fuck Storm — the ever-evolving, monumentally influential California collective's new record is entitled Perfecth, launching on 30th October via Matador Records.

Their high pedigree lineup unchanged for over a decade, the team of Josh Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertitaboth and Jon Theodore's latest long player alludes to the concept of Kintsugi ('golden repair'), in which the act of repairing a shattered object enhances beauty in flaws. Their back catalogue (and associated projects eg. Desert Sessions) sonically fearless from day one, QOTSA's Perfecth is hinted as being mosaic-like in execution, nine tracks recorded "tracked everywhere from New Orleans to Los Angeles." Homme explained (while keeping details tantalisingly vague): "Every song sounds like it's from a different world... And that's on purpose, because it's trying to stitch together all these emotions revolving around love, lust, foolishness, and the sort of wisdom that comes as a gift from all that."

For QOTSA's third single from Perfecth, 'Where The Goth Girls At?', Homme and band progressively crank the intensity and melodrama in a well-timed salute to those eyeliner-loving queens of the mall — out with completely over the top visuals, co-directed by Christopher Gruse and Tony Wolski.
