HELL IS NOW LOVE PROUDLY PRESENTS

THE POSTURES NORTH ISLAND TOUR AUGUST 2012

It’s been a long time between drinks for Wellington noise rock power trio THE POSTURES.

Forming in 2006 and touring up and down NZ a number of times, even making it over to Australia for a few shows, the Postures entered cryostasis in 2011 when drummer Michael Harvey left the country. Fortunately for fans, 2012 sees these volume-loving reprobates defrost and return with a vengeance, with a limited run of North Island shows set for August.

“Primitiveness is the essence of rock and roll,” states guitarist and vocalist Michael Havell, essentially a conceptual blueprint for the Postures’ sound; gloriously loud riffs, swathes of churning feedback (courtesy of guitarist/effects wizard Jeremy Nolan), and thunderous drumming. A simple approach, yet the breadth of their material speaks for itself: from the primal thrash of “Bloody Knuckles” from 2009’s self-titled EP to the majestic drone of “Bushwalker” from 2011’s 7” single, the Postures are no slouches when it comes to making music that does not comfortably fit inside any particular box. Hell Is Now Love have thoughtfully compiled the Postures’ entire recorded output into one album, Algebra: A Concise History of the Postures, along with unreleased song “One Ton Prop”.

This will be your only chance in 2012 to catch the Postures in action. Don’t miss out!
