Weekly Round-Up: Friday 29th March

It's a long weekend, hurrah! We hope all of you are off of work and away from your computers, eating all of the chocolate your digestive systems can handle: it's cool, we've got your browsing-for-music-news under control. A bunch more notable musicians have jumped on the Releasing an Album bandwagon this week. Deerhunter will drop Monomania on April 7th via 4AD, complete with excellent (read: we don't understand but we like it anyway) promotional photograph, while - after not collaborating with PJ Harvey - Dave Grohl returns to Queens of the Stone Age for their forthcoming album, Like Clockwork, due out on Matador this June. Also, while Daft Daft Punk will release a new album, called Random Access Memories on Columbia on May 21st, they have officially denied rumours that they will play this year's Coachella. Which is fine by us because we can't go and therefore obviously don't want anyone else to have any fun.

In 'Watch Some Stuff' news, former arch nemeses Noel Gallagher and Damon Albarn performed together at a Teenage Cancer Trust show (while Liam Gallagher was suitably unimpressed), and a billion people (yes, a billion), including the Yeah Yeah Yeahs (must-watch), Thee Oh Sees (it's hilarious), The Coathangers, and Team Spirit all released video clips.

Finally, in 'I Don't Know How To Process This' news, Mr. Best Hair in the Business Kurt Vile is being thrown a parade in his home town of Philadelphia this weekend. What will it be like? Will there be floats in honour of Kurt Vile? Will Kurt Vile songs ring out across the streets? Will people wear / sell Kurt Vile wigs?
