Weekly Round-Up: Friday 24th May

Weekly Round-Up: Friday 24th May

Friday 24th May, 2013 12:28PM

It was all about the locals on the tour front this week with tour announcements from The Phoenix Foundation, who return from the UK to tour their new album Fandango throughout July, Auckland based musicians Anthonie Tonnon and Watercolours announced a joint tour of the main centres, The Adults announced extensive dates in June and July as did Ladi6 who tours with @Peace ahead of the release of her new album. Two internationals did get announced this week also, including one man band BBQ, aka Canadian musician Mark Sultan, playing dates nationwide in June and electronic producer oOoOO will return for two shows in June.

In album release news, Auckland's Surf City confirmed the release of their sophomore album - We Knew It Was Not Going To Be Like This - in August, Shayne Carter is apparently finishing up his solo album (as per The Adults tour PR), Washed Out's Ernest Greene has announced the release of new album Paracosm in AugustThe Icarus Line have a new record coming out in July called Slave Vows, and streams we recommend checking out of over the weekend include Brooklyn ambient electronic artist Octa Octa's new album Two Selves,  alt-country duo The Handsome Family's new album Wilderness, available via NPR, and San Francisco experimental metal outfit Deafheaven's new record Sunbather available  via Pitchfork Advance.

Caught live this week we have an entire festival, that's right Barcelona's Primavera Sound is currently in full swing and streaming live. Grizzly Bear were up earlier and as this post goes live Phoenix are on stage sounding pretty awesome. The footage will continue through the weekend (mainly during the day for us)...

Also check out our new live videos from Trust Punks, The Everson and Xuri Xruz.
