Big Day Out Approved For Western Springs Stadium

The Big Day Out has been approved to be held at Western Springs Stadium. The festival has received resource consent for five years with a maximum capacity of 50,000, the NZ Herald reports.
Absent from our festival calendar this year after a dismal 2012 outing, festival organisers announced the return of the festival to Auckland in 2014 back in April also revealing their intentions to hold the festival at the awesome new central Auckland location. There is no word yet when we can expect the first lineup announcement but last year it was released mid July - two months earlier than previous years - so stay tuned....
