Lorde Wins Two Grammys

Lorde Wins Two Grammys

Tuesday 28th January, 2014 8:46AM

Lorde has taken out two of the categories she was nominated for at the Grammys held yesterday afternoon (our time) in LA. She was nominated in four categories, three for her break-through single 'Royals' which she performed at the ceremony, winning Best Pop Solo Performance and Song of Year. She lost out on Best Pop Vocal Album, won by Bruno Mars,  and Record of Year which went to Daft Punk for 'Get Lucky' - the helmeted pair also taking out Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the aforementioned tune and Album of The Year for Random Access Memories.

Other winners of note included Vampire Weekend who took out Best Alternative Album for Modern Vampires Of The City, Dave Grohl's supergroup with Paul McCartney won Best Rock Song for 'Cut Me Some Slack', Black Sabbath took out Best Metal Performance for 'God Is Dead', fellow legends Led Zepplin won best Rock Album for Celebration Day and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis won Best New Artist - more winners over here.

You can of course celebrate Lorde's historic wins tomorrow night in Auckland where she'll perform her only New Zealand show this summer...
