Listen: Coolies - God Take Me
Auckland punks Coolies are sharing excellent new single 'God take Me' to coincide with the release of their new EP Punk Is Bread, out today. The six-track record is the first offering from the trio since 2010's Master, and is being released through Epic Sweep on a limited 7-inch, as well as being available for purchase on Bandcamp.
With a history stretching back more than 14 years that has seen the band endure a few line-up changes, Coolies is currently comprised of Stefan Neville (Pumice), SJ and founding member Tina Pihema, who says that much of Punk Is Bread was compiled using different field recordings, and captured during small practices here-and-there using tape, computer, iPhone, zoom recorder, and also includes loops made by gfrenzy. It all culminates on the EP to create an almost seamless adventure, kicked off by the raw melodics of 'God Take Me', check it out below...
The next Coolies album has been recording and is set for mastering by Rachel Shearer, so keep an eye out for that in coming months.
