Listen: Majical Cloudz - Savage (Tim Hecker Remix)

After capturing the attention of Lorde, Canadian duo Majical Cloudz have been plucked from relative obscurity to support her upcoming tour through North America. The synth-pop pair, consisting of singer Devon Welsh and producer Matthew Otto, met the pop star during pre-Grammy festivities earlier this year, where the two-piece were hanging out with Grimes (who they collaborated with a couple of years ago). Lorde had already been a fan of their album Impersonator (2013) and had voiced her admiration via Twitter, so following a meeting the musicians struck up a friendship and soon the tour pairing was born.

All that aside, the post-album single 'Savage' was released by the duo late last year, and has now been reassembled by fellow Canadian Tim Hecker. The renowned sound artist has stripped the track back to its bare bones, with Welsh's vocals becoming little more than a whisper, making it sound like a different song altogether.
