Listen: Dead Meat - Jesus I Was Evil (Darcy Clay Cover)
It's crazy to think that sixteen years have passed since the uncompromisingly unique Darcy Clay died. The catalogue of music he left as his legacy was influential, but limited to just two six track EPs - including of course the classic cut 'Jesus I Was Evil', which Dominic Hoey and his band Dead Meat recently covered (or "ruined" according to Hoey). The group's raucously glitchy version was laid down a few weeks ago for Kiwi FM's Short Sets and is now available through the Dead Meat Bandcamp page. Word has it that Dead Meat are releasing an EP later this year, in the meantime take a listen to 'Jesus I Was Evil' below...
Dead Meat are next playing with DHDFD's and Road Warriors on July 18th at Whammy Bar in Auckland. Click here for more details.
