Listen: Courtney Barnett - Pickles From The Jar
Just yesterday we announced Courtney Barnett is coming to New Zealand in September for one show, and now we can share a brand new track from the idiosyncratic folk musician. Titled 'Pickles From The Jar', the backwards love song has a whole potato-potahto lyrical vibe à la Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, while sonically it leans more towards Violent Femmes.
The song is taken from an upcoming 10-inch compilation that will be released on Barnett's own label Milk! Records and features labelmates Fraser A Gorman, Jen Cloher, The Finks and Royston Vasie. Barnett is also set to release her own proper debut album next year, which follows the double EP A Sea Of Split Peas. In the meantime Take a listen to her new track below...
