Watch Jonny Marks (All Seeing Hand) Cover Tami Neilson
Late last month when Tami Neilson and her brother Joshua were awarded the Silver Scroll for their collaborative song-writing effort on 'Walk (Back To Your Arms)', throat-singer Jonny Marks of brain-melting trio All Seeing Hand got up on stage with a 16-piece Indonesian gamelan bell orchestra and performed an outlandish cover of the award-winning song. Only people watching the Wellington ceremony at the time could claim witness to this bizarre rendition of the swinging country tune, until now. Thanks to the folk at APRA a clip of the vein-popping performance has been released for general viewing. In the five-minute performance arranged by Gareth Farr, Marks opens with some prolonged growling before launching into a Tom Waits-esque lyrical effort supported by the rhythmic chiming of the Gamelan Taniwha Jaya.
