First wave ska legends The Skatalites were in the country over the weekend for three shows to celebrate their 50th anniversary as a band. The Jamaican musical institution was founded in 1964, naming themselves after a recently-launched Sputnik satellite and then launched a series of hits that have travelled through the decades including 'Guns of Navarone'. Despite the group's longevity and changing lineup the weekend's shows saw original vocalist Doreen Shaffer, aka the Queen of Jamaican Ska, performing with the group.
