The Black Keys Cancel New Zealand Tour

The Black Keys Cancel New Zealand Tour

Monday 23rd March, 2015 4:32PM

The Black Keys have cancelled their upcoming shows in New Zealand, Australia and Japan due to ongoing issues with an injury sustained by drummer Patrick Carney earlier this year. The American duo were scheduled to play a series of headline shows, however they released an apologetic statement saying they have had to cancel all performances through to April 23rd.

The statement goes on to say: "Patrick sustained a dislocated and broken shoulder in January that required surgery. Working with the doctors, surgeons and physiotherapists since January, we had expected Patrick to be ready to return to touring in April. The recovery process and physical therapy has taken longer than anticipated and unfortunately Patrick is still unable to perform and needs additional time to heal. We thank all of our fans for their ongoing support and we look forward to getting back on the road as soon as possible.” Due to prior commitments they were unable to reschedule the Australian shows

The pair were booked to play Christchurch and Auckland on 18th and 19th of April, respectively. Please refer to the ticketing agent for refunds.
