Weekly Round Up: Friday 27th March

After last week's exciting announcements of Fleetwood Mac and Kiss both coming to New Zealand later in the year, this week's tour news was on the quiet side. However, we did catch wind that rising star Soak, from Northern Ireland, will be heading over this way fresh from her show at SXSW for one intimate performance at Golden Dawn in Auckland next month. Closer to home, Shayne P Carter announced three solo shows for the North Island as a precursor to the release of his upcoming piano-based album, Offsider. And Wellington beatmaker Estère is taking her MPC on the road for a nationwide tour next month.

In release news, British producer Jamie xx shared a couple of brand new tracks from his upcoming debut solo album In Colour, due out in June. Thee Oh Sees frontman John Dwyer is gearing up to release a solo album under the moniker Damaged Bug, and served up psychedelic single 'The Mirror' as a wee taste of what to expect. Canadian post-rockers Godspeed You! Black Emperor are streaming their incredible four-track album Asunder And Sweet Other Distress, ahead of its official release at the end of the month. Auckland group HDSPNS let loose new single '249' in anticipation of a forthcoming record. And Christchurch outfit Wurld Series unveiled 'Oh Well' with a winsome video, the track is part of an upcoming split cassette with Jim Nothing.

This week's Caught Live is some footage Kendrick Lamar performing live on the back of a moving truck on Sunset Strip, as part of an impromptu performance which kept fans on their toes..
