Hardcore outfit Antagonist A.D. is heading on the road for three New Zealand shows to celebrate the release of new album Haunt Me As I Roam. Following their epic journey they spent 2014 carving out their new 11-track record, which is coming out through Australian alternative label UNFD. PRESS RELEASE:
NEW ZEALAND'S HARDCORE HEAVY HITTERS ANTAGONIST AD RETURN TO NEW ZEALAND VENUES WITH NEW ALBUM AND NEW ENERGY
ANTAGONIST A.D. have announced their “HAUNT ME AS I ROAM” tour for MAY 2015, and will be bringing along DEAD DREAMERS for dates around NEW ZEALAND. The dates will launch ANTAGONIST A.D.’s just released UNFD debut album HAUNT ME AS I ROAM.
In 2013 ANTAGONIST AD embarked on a world tour. Carrying the flag through Australia, Europe and North America starting and finishing the tour in NZ. Upon completion the band went quiet working on a new album only surfacing for an occasional tour across the ditch.
These shows will be their first shows on the album campaign, the first since their tour with The Amity Affliction throughout Australia in January and their first in New Zealand since 2013.
Taking the entire year of 2014 to put together their debut release on Australia's premiere alternative music label UNFD - the band are finally ready to debut this new lease on life in venues across New Zealand.
The release is packing a mosher’s ransom in cameos from their new label-mates, including JJ Peters from Deez Nuts, Andrew Neufeld from Comeback Kid and Sam Carter from Architects. And titular tune Haunt Me As I Roam is no exception, packing walloping guest vocals by Ahren Stringer of The Amity Affliction.
It’s an intense, emotional screamer of a track, making it an apt headliner for an LP that vocalist Sam Crocker has described as the band’s most “personally confronting” to date.
“It’s more melodic, dynamic, personal and contrasting release than anything we have ever done before,” he tells Music Feeds. “Lyrically deeper and more personally confronting – musically more progressive and melodic than anything we have ever done.”
“It’s an album of introspection and reflection. Empowering yourself through a walk of fire and hell to come out wiser and still swinging on the other side.”
Tickets are available online from undertheradar.co.nz and at the door on the night.
