Listen: Dudley Benson - Muscles (Eyeliner Remix - UTR Premiere)

Dudley Benson's new single 'Muscles' has been given the remix treatment by prolific Wellington musician Eyeliner. The intriguing song, which is Benson's first original track since 2008, has been spun into a shimmering offering by the capital city artist, who also produces music under the name Disasteradio.

Benson says he asked Eyeliner to remix the track because he respects his incessant creativity. "Muscles as a track is absolutely a pop song, but because of the tension in the story of the lyrics, it wasn't right for me to let it be too wild," the Dunedin-based musician says. "Giving Muscles to Luke was so exciting because I suspected he would be able to bring out the poppiest aspects of the track, but retain the kaupapa."

'Muscles' is the first single from Benson's highly-anticipated third album Zealandia, which has been described as a set of twelve 'identity pop anthems' featuring full symphony orchestra, the 50-person New Zealand Youth Choir, and electronic beats Benson sampled from rocks and minerals found within our continent. The album is in the final stages of production, with a Boosted campaign underway to help fund its completion.
