Wouldn’t It Be Nice If the Beach Boys Came to NZ

The Beach Boys are coming to New Zealand, with a one-off exclusive concert to be staged in Tauranga this November.

The visit will mark 50 years of fun fun fun, and founding Beach Boy Mike Love will be on stage to ensure there’s plenty of the past magic.

Hits such as Surfin’ USA, I Get Around, Good Vibrations, Help Me Rhonda, California, and Wouldn’t It Be Nice, will hit the sound waves at the coastal city, bringing back fond memories and a great night out for the band’s many fans.

Mike, on lead vocals, will be joined by Beach Boy veteran Bruce Johnston on vocals and keyboards.

Rounding out the band are Jeffery Foskett (guitar/vocals), Randell Kirsch (bass/vocals), Tim Bonhomme (keyboards/vocals), John Cowsill (percussion/vocals) and Scott Totten (guitar/vocals).

The Beach Boys’ New Zealand performance will be staged on Tuesday, November 24 at the ASB Arena, Baypark, Mt Maunganui.

Bay Venues commercial manager Ervin McSweeney says there’s harmony in the fact the world’s greatest beach band will perform at what is often voted New Zealand’s best beach location (Mt Maunganui).

He says the ASB Arena’s concert-goer capacity is 3,000 and a sell-out crowd is expected.

It will not be the first time the Beach Boys have pulled the crowds at Mt Maunganui. They last performed – with Chicago – in 2004. This time they will be performing throughout the entire show.

Tickets are available through and will go on sale Monday 15th June.
