Video: Florence And The Machine - 'Queen of Peace' + 'Long And Lost'
The latest incredible cinematic adventure has been unveiled by Florence and The Machine, which envelops two of the tracks from their recent album How Big How Blue How Beautiful. The double-feature centres around frontwoman Florence Welch and was directed by Vincent Haycock, who also helmed the hair-raising clips for What Kind of Man', 'St. Jude', 'and 'Ship to Wreck'.The 10-minute video for ‘Queen of Peace’ and ‘Long & Lost’ brings about parts 4 and 5 in 'The Odyssey' narrative laid down in the previous three clips.
Filmed in Scotland, landscape adds to the desperate nature of the film, according to Haycock. "The coast of Scotland is breathtaking, beautiful and harsh, an aesthetic mix that both Florence and I have been very interested in during the making of these videos," he explains. "We shot in the winter and it was cold, brutal and endlessly inspiring, which I think really helped the story of Florence’s struggle with her family, the younger innocence vs. the feuding violence of the men around her." Florence and The Machine are playing one New Zealand show on Saturday 21st November at the Vector Arena, Auckland. Head over here for more details.
