Undertheradar is an independent music website that has been championing New Zealand's music scene since 2004.

We provide a range of services to support all aspects of the music industry but are particularly known and relied upon for our comprehensive local content. Combining up to the minute news and carefully curated editorial, we celebrate the best of music in New Zealand irrespective of genre or popularity - indie pop to noise artists, hip hop to metal, emerging artists to grammy winners and everything in between.

The Gigs!

Undertheradar is the go-to site for live music news and information in New Zealand, offering promoters a direct line to their potential audience whilst associating with a respected and much loved brand.

Undertheradar is a locally owned and operated by music lovers and is dedicated to the promotion of alternative music, live music and the support of local music communities across the country. Launched in 2004 as an online record store, the site evolved to include a local gig guide and regular music news and has since become the largest dedicated music site in the country.

In 2008 we developed our online ticketing platform after noticing that tickets for many shows we were excited about were not available online. The service was the first of its kind here, allowing event organisers of any size and experience the opportunity to easily ticket their gigs. It took off and has helped establish UTR as an essential site and service for the local music industry.
