Brad Kang Quintet - Farewell Concert

Tour Information
Christchurch-raised guitarist and Ara Music Arts tutor Brad Kang presents a final concert as part of a New Zealand tour with his Wellington/Christchurch Quintet as he bids farewell to go study in New York City!

Ever since his return from his studies at the University of North Texas, where he was a member of the world-renowned One O'Clock Lab Band, guitarist Brad Kang has been a sought-after contributor to the New Zealand jazz scene.

He will perform in the Doug Caldwell Concert Room at Ara Music Arts, where he has served as a guitar tutor for the past 3 years, before embarking on a move to New York City to pursue his studies at the Manhattan School of Music.

The concert will feature an all original collection of modern-indie-cinematic-jazz compositions, consisting of music written for this year's packed-out Wellington Jazz Festival concert as well as tracks from his 2017 EP Farewell For Now.

He will be joined by a stellar cast of musicians, featuring some of the best emerging jazz artists NZ has to offer from Wellington and Christchurch, both of which has served as his base in New Zealand.

Brad Kang - Guitar
Louisa Williamson - Tenor Saxophone
George Maclaurin - Piano
Hamish Smith - Upright Bass
