The move to the Big Level Red has hit the showbiz industry very hard and we have to change things up to keep things going at the mighty Whammy Bar to keep it going safely.

We've all been devastated that after 2 years of trying, The Others Way had to cancel this weekend. But with their blessing we have pulled together some of the incredible artists from The Others Way lineup for a special seated and spaced out show.

We are beyond stoked to be joined by all time Aotearoa music legend Julia Deans.

Having first come to the fore as the sassy and beguiling front woman for Fur Patrol at the turn of the century, the past decade has seen Julia Deans transition from iconic rock chick to glorious songbird.

Deans’ critically acclaimed solo albums Modern Fables (2010) and We Light Fire
(2018) both earned her a swag of nominations for coveted musical accolades the Taite Music Prize, the APRA Silver Scroll, and the NZ Music Awards, and this year marks the 20th anniversary of Fur Patrol’s much-loved album Pet, which brought us the now classic kiwi number one ‘Lydia’.

We are also very excited to have the incredible Neo-Folk artist Jazmine Mary and their superstar full band back down at Whammy for this special occasion. Their surreal rose-tinted sounds allows listeners to be transported somewhere bold and watery.

Their debut Album 'The Licking of a Tangerine' is a real stunner and their single 'Dancer' was all over the Student Radio and NZ music charts in 2021.

We will be operating under the COVID guidelines with a reduced capacity, seated and spaced out cabaret style, table service, masks required when moving around the venue, Vax passports a must, and if you are experiencing any symptoms, please do stay home.
