Tour Information
Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to the inaugural Piha Prom! We’re bringing the op shop 80's / 90's ball vibes to a springtime soiree at your fave spot in Piha, the legendary Piha Bowling Club. The Bowler will be transformed into a beautiful mess of sound, sight & silliness for one night only.

Your ticket to ride gets you:
A drink on arrival (before 8pm)
A delicious meal from Our Place By The Green
Live music entertainment:
Sweetpants & the Shoulder Rubs
The Occasionals
Steve Dunstan
Brother Jay
Matt May

Prizes for best dressed! So we suggest you visit our friends at LuckyLife in Titirangi, or swing by SaveMart and sort yourself out. Will those shoulder pads score you the tiara & title of Prom Queen? Are those lapels large enough to earn you a spot on the throne as the King of the Piha Prom?

A bit more about the artists:

DJ Sweetpants & the Shoulder Rubs.
Murry Sweetpants one of Aucklands top Dj's has teamed up with percussionist Matt Sawyer & Juan Balsani on sax giving an already killer DJ set an extra serving of special, with a live element that takes the sound to a whole new level. Expect the fellas to bust out an array of stone cold classics, a little bit of quality new stuff, and a large helping of funky good times. If it’s a party you want, it’s a party you’ll get.

The Occasionals
From the surly sea-town of Piha (a town populated by wandering dogs and jilted lovers) a Supergroup has been born. Dubbed, The Occasionals, due to the numbers of times a band member has awoken to find they aren't handcuffed to a hospital bed, this band will neither confirm nor deny covering Rick Astley but there is enough cheese in their set to satisfy all of Holland. Sooz Fougére on vox, Laurie Moreton & Russ Wakeling on the axes, Gherado Gambaro spanking the plank & Rob Dollars on the skins. This 5 piece powerhouse is set to light up the night & gird your loins from go to whoa... Definitely the greatest band to ever remember Milli Vanilli with fondness.

Steve Dunstan
Piha’s latest blow in / wannabe local with a background of party DJing through the 2000’s and holding down a couple of radio slots between BaseFM and George for many years. Steve Dunstan delivers broken bpms, bumping beats whilst jumping genres in enthusiastic manner. Jump on board, ride the river and flow in the direction of the night.

Brother Jay
Who is Brother Jay? Well he’s an international man of mystery, some would say an enigma… a conundrum. Whether it’s the seedy back streets of Tokyo or the high roller haunts of Vegas (Roto). You name it he’s slayed it. And now he’s making the 5 min trip to the Bowla. Expect the unexpected. Jay will be bringing his World renown tripperdelic lounge sound to start the Prom off.

Matt May
Murray head honcho and the original UGH. The Taco Guy will be sure to be lurking about with a crate of groove goodies.
