On Saturday 10 December, Pōneke's Cuba Street precinct will be hosting the first edition of GREAT SOUNDS GREAT, a brand new one-day multi-venue music festival organised and run by the local Eyegum Music Collective. Spanning across five neighbouring venues, the jam-packed indie music festival will feature 20 of Aotearoa's best acts, most of which have already been announced.

Eyegum is stoked to share the remaining acts who will be rounding out an incredible and eclectic lineup. This includes everyone’s favourite heavy psych duo Earth Tongue, electric groove merchants Glass Vaults and the exciting new project from Kane Strang, Office Dog. There’s sure to be something for everyone with such a packed programme.

Tickets for GREAT SOUNDS GREAT are available now from undertheradar.co.nz but are going fast.

Ticket holders will receive a wristband that will give them access to each of the participating venues throughout the event.

Parrotdog launch party
Our awesome sponsors Parrotdog are holding a launch party for Great Sounds Great at 60-66 Kingsford Smith Street, Lyall Bay on Friday, 9 December. Wiri Donna will be kicking off the night followed by Na Noise. This show is free but capacity is strictly limited. You'll also be able to pick up your wristbands and purchase tickets for Great Sounds Great at this event. Keep an eye out for the Parrotdog X GSG tap pouring at most venues!

Tickets
Wristband pick ups will be available from the new Flying Nun shop on 173 Cuba Street between 12pm and 9pm on Saturday, 10 December (as well as at Parrotdog Bar on Friday, 9 December). Please show your ticket and/or provide your name to the team at Flying Nun (and your photo ID if asked). The event is strictly 18+ and IDs may be checked when wristbands are issued and security reserves the right to check IDs at each venue. You will be issued with a GSG wristband which will give you access to all venues on the night of the festival.

Venues
The evening kicks off at 5pm at Valhalla, with doors opening at 4:30pm. Each venue has limited capacity and once capacity is reached there will be a one-in, one-out policy. We recommend showing up to venues early to avoid disappointment.

We love consent and respect at Great Sounds Great.
If you’re feeling unsafe, uncomfortable or need help, come and see one of our friendly volunteers in pink hi-viz.
We will be available at venues and at our drop in space (Location TBC). Come see us here if you need to charge your phone or if you need a quiet place to talk.

Great Sounds Great has zero tolerance for harassment, assault, racism, homophobia, transphobia or violence of any kind.
This behaviour will result in immediate removal from the festival. If you see or hear this, please let out volunteers, security or venue staff know immediately.
