Jay Clarkson And The Containers

At last a gig in Akld for Jay Clarkson and The Containers! Cancellations in the last 2 years mean that THIS gig at The Wine Cellar will be the band's AKLD debut!!

Jay Clarkson's distinctive song-writing, singing and guitar-playing has had a loyal following for 3 decades. She has recorded and released 4 solo albums, 2 of which, Spur and Kindle, are both currently available on vynyl . Limited numbers.
Between them The Containers 4 band members have had recordings released through a variety of labels including Archhill, Arc Life; Ripper, Propeller, Fishrider, Failsafe, Rose Hobart, IMD, South Indies, Epic Sweep, Homestead, WEA, Zelle Records; and Flying Nun. The band has recently finished tracking an album to be titled FALLING THROUGH. It is currently being mixed by Paul Kean.

The band consists of:-
Jay Clarkson: vocals & guitar ( the Playthings, They Were Expendable, the Expendables, Breathing Cage, The Matches) On drums: MIke Dooley (Snapper, Toy Love, Dri Horrors, The Enemy, Pop Up Toasters, The Snares); O keyboards: Alan Haig ( David Kilgour & The Heavy 8s, The Chills, Snapper, Chug, Verlaines, Song Bong ); On bass: Tenzin Mullin (Suka, Heka, David Lynch Mob, Lars von Trio)

Opening band, LOST DEMOS (https://www.facebook.com/LostDemos) play a distinct blend of swampy-noir alt-folk around the songs of singer-songwriter/guitarist Peter Hobbs (Kitset). With Andrea Holmes on drums (Fang), Jon Baxter on Trumpet, Puck Murphy on banjo, Kieran Scott on guitar/slide and Dylan Wood on bass, they are releasing their debut album in 2023.
