Scalper is Nadeem Shafi, born and raised in East London of Pakistani descent. First seen in Aotearoa New Zealand at WOMAD 1997 as the vocalist for the British band Fun-da-mental. Now based on the wild West Coast of Auckland, having moved here in 2007. 5 LPs and 3 EPs deep Scalper is Hip-Hop like you’ve never heard it before. Moody, gritty beats with introspective lyrics that conjure visions of epic proportions, and an electrifying live performance that demands attention. A true multilingual artist, ¥OUNG GHO$T 鬼打樣 effortlessly switches between English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Hakka. With a performance history that spans across New Zealand and Australia, his achievements include securing first place in the 'Rap Of China' competition New Zealand division, a top 10 spot in the 'Rap Of China' competition Australasia division, and a second place win in 'The Voice, China' New Zealand division. Through Hip-Hop, he proudly represent their culture and community, forging a path that's uniquely their own.

Kieran Tahir is a British Pakistani producer and DJ who emigrated from Scotland to Aotearoa at the age of 9. He has previously been involved in the Kerosene Comic Book collective and works closely alongside the elusive Tāmaki based producer Muirs. His music explores the complexities of hybrid identity, merging heavy UK productions and Pakistani pop bangers.
