Pony Baby Live At Studio 1 Vintage Guitars

Tour Information
After our first live in-store performance with Adam McGrath was met with a rapturous response, we’re going to make these shows ‘a thing’ every couple of months. Live at Studio 1 is chomping at the bit to welcome folk-country darlings Pony Baby to the stage, Thursday 23rd May.

Pony Baby is country music’s newest darling duo and it features two of NZ’s most prolific indie artists. Made up of ARAHI and Jazmine Mary, a pair of musical chameleon’s that found themselves living together on the edge of the ocean in West Auckland.

As individuals they have made compelling recordings (with Jazmine being awarded the Auckland Live Best Independent Debut for 2022) and have toured all over NZ. Together they play a selection of stringed instruments, write heartfelt lyrics and meld them with sweet harmonies that will melt your heart.

Their debut album was released in February and opens with an ethereal swell and a delicate guitar figure that leads into the opening chorus of the song aptly titled, Pony Baby. A perfect introduction to the duo, showcasing their dreamy visions, lush guitar work and vocal prowess.

ARAHI possesses a voice that can go from rich baritone to crystal falsetto in the same breath, giving you the feeling akin to your duvet on a chilly morning. Jazmine articulates like Bukowski writes, juicing every ounce of ardour from their vocal palette. The two create something more than the sum of their parts, seemingly switching between instruments with ease and fusing their voices as if by Tesla coil.

Don’t miss your chance to see this divine duo in the relaxed, intimate setting of our showroom for our second instalment of Live at Studio 1. Tickets are limited and Pony Baby are fresh from a national tour which saw them win hearts across the country and wind up in their hometown with a sell out show. Nothing belongs to no one, but Pony Baby would like to belong to you.
