Soft and raspy, poetic and bouncy, Michael Llewellyn intertwines poetry, music and storytelling to create an experience that is both honest and raw. Michael, alongside the I’m Gorgeous band, will be sharing songs from his upcoming project ‘Through Every Heart’. Inviting listeners into a world of dreams and reflections. Resplendent with choir-like voices and rich arrangements, the candlelit, intimate nature of the show hopes to present an evening that is both peaceful and uplifting.

Including some of Pōneke’s finest, the ‘I’m Gorgeous’ band, curated specially for this one-off performance, is a confluence of musicians, singers, artists and poets. The group includes Hikurangi Schaverien-Kaa (Drums), Phoebe Johnson (Bass & Vocals), Reuben Topzand (Keyboards), Zane Hawkins (Guitar), Isabella Smith (Vocals & Percussion), Iris Little (Vocals), Victoria Ferry (Vocals), Jacqueline Valentine-Ramsden (Vocals), Hugo Reeve (Vocals) & Jessy Reese (Poetry).

The evening will open with a performance from Iris Little.

Emerging from the labyrinthine corridors of the alt-folk realm, Te Whanganui a Tara’s Iris Little brings forward inspiration from the natural world, folk traditions and the complexities of identity. Inviting listeners on a transformative journey of spoken word, fretless bass and swirling synthesisers, Iris crafts compositions that feel contemporary and simultaneously familiar.
