Fresh off her Aotearoa Music Award wins for Best Solo Artist and Album Of The Year, coupled with the release of her critically acclaimed album Soft Power & new single Motorway, Ōtautahi dream-pop artist Fazerdaze (Amelia Murray) is bringing her special duo show to Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland.
The last time the Fazerdaze duo hit the road was late last year, when Amelia Murray and bandmate Dave Rowlands (keys and guitar) toured North America alongside Australian psych-rockers POND. Along the way, they delivered a mesmerizing live set at Seattle’s legendary KEXP studio as part of the station’s iconic live-to-air series. Now, local audiences are in for a treat as Fazerdaze brings that same magic home for a series of rare, intimate shows on home soil.
Soft Power follows Fazerdazes 2017 cult classic debut Morningside and 2022 Break! EP, which were praised by outlets including Pitchfork, MOJO, The Guardian, and more. Across 11 self produced and self-dubbed “bedroom stadium” tracks, Amelia melds dreamy synths and electronic beats with rock elements, creating a sound that balances gritty authenticity and refined pop brilliance.
These NZ shows come ahead of an extensive North American tour, including support for Pixies and her own headline dates. It’s the perfect way to celebrate new single “Motorway”, as well as Fazerdaze’s recent global rise including Spotify RADAR recognition, a Times Square billboard, and Rolling Stone Australia’s #1 NZ Album of 2024

Soft Power follows Fazerdaze's 2017 cult classic debut Morningside, and 2022 Break! EP, which were praised by outlets including Pitchfork, MOJO, The Guardian, and more. This expansive record provided Murray a space to embrace her inner strength while staying connected to her softness, rawness, and vulnerability. She writes, “This is what I created during the darkest, loneliest, most tumultuous years of my life – entering womanhood, navigating the world, the music industry, and what I thought was love. In my scariest moments, this album was my anchor for hope, purpose, and light.”
Mostly self-produced with co-mixing by Simon Gooding and engineering assistance from Emily Wheatcroft-Snape, this album offers a voice to listeners who are on their own journeys of self-discovery, inviting them to tap into their own ‘Soft Power.’
