Wellington-based guitarist Lockie Bennett is widely regarded as one of New Zealand’s most in-demand straight-ahead jazz guitarists. The trio features some of New Zealand’s top musicians, Elijah Mulheron on bass and Cory Champion on drums.
The trio specialises in and is greatly influenced by the likes of Bud Powell and Charlie Parker. Expect familiar and lesser-known bebop tunes and curated selections from the great American songbook.
This gig will be recorded and will be released as part of Lockie’s debut album later this year. With Cory heading overseas, this will be your last chance to see this trio for some time.
