Huia

Huia is made up of whānau, who live close to the duck and across the bay at Saint leonards.

Huia is Hiliako, Jerry, (and for a bit - the Miller twins – Rachel and Jenny), a crew rooted in the sounds of the Pacific and Aotearoa and everything else which resonates.

Hiliako is known for his work with the award-winning roots/reggae band 'Koile, a band that brings that island vibe with a South Dunedin twist.

Rachel (bass) and Jenny (keys) happen to live across the bay from Hiliako with Jerry on Huia Street.

Alongside some of Hiliako and Jerry’s originals, Huia flips a couple of familiar tracks with a bit of fresh island soul and musical alchemy. A bit of a neighbourhood jam - more “whānau” less “band”.
